THE ATELIER

100 YEARS OF HISTORY

IN THE HEART OF ROME

Our story begins in the 1930s, with Elettra, a seamstress chosen by Queen Margherita. Elettra decided to put her experience and skills to good use by opening a shop selling paper patterns where, in addition to making purchases, customers could benefit from her valuable advice and secrets for creating impeccable garments. The growing public acclaim led Elettra to expand the business, involving her three sisters, each of whom opened a store.

THE BIRTH OF THE BRAND

In 1942, the family owned four stores in the city. The brand GLEN was born from the acronym of the names of the four sisters (Gemma, Leonida, Elettra and Nina). It would be a sales and image success, leading to continuous increases in the workforce. In 1955, they hired a fifteen-year-old apprentice, Silvana, who soon, with tenacity and skill, would become the première.

Here Silvana also finds love with Giulio, Elettra's eldest son, whom she marries in 1963, taking over the family business. In 1970, following trends, she opens the first tailoring workshop, where the story of the atelier will begin. Silvana manages it with passion and pride until 1985, when her daughter Paola joins the company, with whom she will collaborate until 1996.

THE THIRD GENERATION:

PAOLA STRAMUCCI

Since then, Paola has been the heart and driving force of this reality, which was born from a dream and is realized daily through the commitment of all the staff who work with ever-renewed passion towards a single goal: Grace, Shape, Elegance, and Novelty.
